Step Up Scholarship
With a Step Up For Students Scholarship, your K-12 student has more school options. The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship gives families a choice of financial assistance toward private school tuition and fees, or helps with transportation costs for students to attend a public school different than the one the student is assigned to. The Family Empowerment Scholarship may be used towards private school tuition and fees.
Eligibility
Family of 4 must have income under $100,000
Students entering kindergarten must be 5 on or before Sept. 1.
Students entering first grade must be 6 on or before Sept. 1.
Sibling of Gardiner Scholarship students
Dependent children of a member of the United States Armed Forces
Students with one of the following diagnoses: speech impairment; language impairment; orthopedic impairment; other health impairment; emotional or behavioral disability; or specific learning disability, including but not limited to dyslexia, dyscalculia, or developmental aphasia
What you’ll need
Paystubs (30 consecutive days closest to when you submit your application)
Birth certificate if your child is entering kindergarten or first grade.
Proof of residency for all members in the household (i.e. – health insurance, Medicaid, income documentation, utility bills, court custody documents or residential lease listing household members)
Any other sources of income (i.e. – unemployment benefits, social security benefits, child support benefits, etc.)
Driver’s license or passport for primary and secondary parents

Admissions Qualifications
We believe no child should be denied a quality education. To become a BWLA student your child must be of at least kindergarten age. If your child has special or behavioral needs you will have to discuss at length their individual needs to ensure our curriculum is the best fit.
Application Process
The application process is streamlined to make it easy for our parents and guardians. It is a 4 step process.

- Schedule a tour with our registrar.
- Complete Parent Packet.
Enrollment Process
The onboarding process is simple. Once your application is approved, the registrar will ensure you have received financial options to cover the tuition. There are several scholarships available that you will need to apply for. Once the scholarship or tuition has been settled you will receive a parent package. Health records will be requested as well as transportation needs discussed. We encourage you and the child(ren) to tour the school and become familiar with the environment. We have a dedicated resource to aid you through the process. For your convenience all of the forms are available on our site.
